The book featured some of the least liked vegetables, a history of the vegetable, fun facts about them, and how they are grown. I learned a lot of interesting facts while reading the book, and I was amazed and appreciative of the amount of work and research the author put into this story. This book talked about some history. Emperor Augustus has a fondness for asparagus, he used it as a term for racing. "he's faster than boiled asparagus!". Onions are used as a medication and was worth a lot back in the day. An onion could even pay of your taxes. Athlete's rubbed onions on their skin believing they would run faster. The myth that carrots give you better vision was formed in WW2. The British were using a radar to shoot down German planes at night and they joked about it being the carrots they ate which helped them see better.
