I liked most of the stories in this anthology. Some i didn't care for much, but some were really interesting.I've read a couple of things from Rhonda Parrish, and this was not my favourite, but it was a nice read for sure. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Member Giveaways geschrieben. Some Kindle Unlimited some permafree? D one I got as LibraryThing freebie please if you would reveiw of your own free will blah blah. Each Letter has an anthology and each anthology has a theme and each one is an alphabet's number {26} of different shortish stories by different writers. For the 2 I got to read, must say Absolutely Astonishing and Definitely Different. Just read them already, see the stars. A is for Apocalypse (Alphabet Anthologies Book 1) {permafree? has one of the B stories in back} B is for Broken (Alphabet Anthologies Book 2) {not ku} C is for Chimera (Alphabet Anthologies Book 3) {not ku} D is for Dinosaur {ku, got it through LT myself} Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Member Giveaways geschrieben. D is for Dinosaur is a diverse collection of stories with varied takes on the idea of "dinosaur." There is one story for each letter of the alphabet, some short and quick and others that take a little time to build. The stories touch on multiple genres and interpretations of the word "dinosaur," so even people who did not go though a dinosaur stage in childhood will find pieces that they can connect with strongly. This is the first Alphabet Anthologies book I've read, but I like the concept a lot. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Gehört zur ReiheRhonda Parrish's Alphabet Anthologies (volume 4)
For the fourth installment of Rhonda Parrish's Alphabet Anthologies, contributors were challenged to write about dinosaurs. The resulting twenty-six stories contain widely different interpretations of the dinosaur theme and span the spectrum from literal to metaphoric.Within these stories -- set in alternative histories, far-flung futures and times just around the corner -- dinosaurs whimper and waste away or roar and rage. People can be dinosaurs, as can ideas, fictions and flesh. Knitted dinosaurs share space with ghostly, genetically engineered and even narcotic ones.Teenagers must embrace their inner dinosaurs in order to find peace and belonging, a dying woman duels a God in a far future city that echoes aspects of our past, an abused wife accompanies her husband on a hunt for an ancient power and finds more than she could ever have imagined and a girl with wonderful magical powers stumbles across the bones of a giant long-dead lizard. And so much more Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
