I love everything Marvel. The storylines are incredible! They have everything you could want: action, adventure, comedy, romance, political intrigue, allegories, metaphors, etc. Some stories drag, some end too soon. ( )

This book is in some ways similar to the first X-Men movie. It pits mutants against mutants as the X-Men and others at Professor Xavier’s school are interested in co-existing with humans, while Maximus Lobo and his werewolf-like mutant henchman are convinced that only homo superiors should walk the earth. As the X-Men disagree with this, they become enemies, too. There are other various sub-plots going on as well. I found this book particularly interesting because it retains the elements of the X-Men legends while introducing new characters who are illustrated in the style of Japanese comics. I enjoy X-Men because the stories aren’t just about fighting battles and saving the day but are also about the relationships, tensions and all, between the various men and women who find themselves fighting the bad guys together.
