This book is presented as a "co-reader" with longer sentences/paragraphs on the left side of the page for a caregiver to read and shorter sentences/paragraphs on the right side for a beginning reader to read. This is an interesting structure I have not seen before. However, it seemed like some of the right side pages still contain words a bit more difficult for the earliest of readers, such as "orchid" and "duckweed." Presumably a caregiver would be right there beside the child though and thus would be able to help. The book provides clear and accurate information about plants and how they grow. Illustrations are full-color photographs featuring a diverse set of children. ( ) This informational book is set up in an "I read, you read" format. There are four chapters with matching activities using pictures at the end of each chapter. There are many different text features including a table of contents, instructional icons, pictures, labels, and more. I can see this being especially useful and appropriate for grades 3-4 because it contains a lot of information but the sentence structures and content is straight to the point. It's very interactive and engaging while covering some big concepts about what plants are, how they grow, and how they pertain to us. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
