This is one of Morgan's early medical romances, one of the Mountain Rescue series. It's a marriage in jeopardy plot: Christy walks out on Alessandro, taking their two children with her to London and working as a practice nurse. She had hoped to shake her husband up, but he believed she was done with him and stayed up north. Christmas brings them all back together in their Lake District village, where the adults talk past each other and the children try to bring them back together. The bickering and lack of communication is well done, and so is Christy's insecurity and Alessandro's obliviousness about how controlling he is. He comes to realize his own part in their difficulties in a convincing way, and for readers who like a good grovel, this one should satisfy. ( )
