A fascinating semi-autobiographical portrait of a father raising his autistic son. When he learns of toddler Oliver's diagnosis, Mark struggles with it, but the dude learns to abide and tries to pass that philosophy on to his son with the mantra, "It will pass." Not finding the common tactic of instilling a reliance on routines in an autistic person an appealing solution, Mark instead practices a form of desensitization whereby he entices Oliver into routinely making eye contact and then injects his life with playful surprises and moments of absurdity to discourage reactions of shock and encourage an activation of creative thinking. Mark is not a perfect parent or person, but his willingness to commit to his son's progress is impressive. ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
