I loved this book. I couldn't stop turning pages. I thought I was going to cry when it was over. There was so much mystery and intrigue going on, there was just never a good stopping point. Regardless of your preferred genre, there is something in this book for everyone. Murder, mystery, suspense, conspiracy, romance, sex. Lots of sex. Tragedy and happiness. Will Cobra and Lorraine continue on their path to destruction, or will they save each other? ( )

Jason "Cobra" Stanley has never known normal, from childhood, all he has known in the pain of the fist and of words, even as he has grown into his adult years and entered into a twisted relationship with Missy, all he has felt was pain. But after his last went badly, he ended up in hospital…but that is where he saw an angel.

Lorraine "Lo" Bosch lost everything when her parents and twin sister were murdered by an unknown person. After staying with her family friends the Bennett's, Lo needed to feel strong and be her own personal, she moved back to her family house, and try to discover whom murdered her family. But Lo had got herself into a situation where all did did was look for the murderer and work as a nurse and at night, she locked herself in the basement to stay safe.

But Lo's life changed when she met Jason. Not only did he save her from an attack, but he also wanted her! Together they try and start a life together, moving forward and put the darkness in the past…that is until the murder returns, intent on finishing the job.

If you had read the Caldwell series, you would have been introduced to Jason before; I had always hoped that Jason would have his own book, especially after he rescued Tatiana from her abusive father, I also was thrilled that he dumped Missy, and while I abhor violence against women; I also believe that everyone deserves a second chance, as long as they want to change, and that's what Jason's character did, and for that I commend the authors for taking such a risky move with a character.

My heart broken for Lo's character, with losing everything and when she thought she was going to a safe place with the Bennett's, she wasn't truly emotionally safe and I think that broke my heart even more. I loved the way that Jason care just for her; that he even tried to walk away from her, misguided in the thought of saving her from himself. I loved the way that these two whom seem such darkness inside themselves, see such good in each other.

The writing is fantastic and you cannot even tell that two separate authors wrote this book. The plot is magnificent! It's gripping and thrilling and while a little controversial, by the time the murder is unveiled, you honestly no longer think about those issues. I'm hoping we see more books in this series.
