Not earth shattering, but regular problems of settling at a new location and dealing with emotions. I could have done without the vignettes in the end. They were just too short too be really interesting. ( ) Another different aspect - now they're out on their own, running their own practice. Which comes with complications - from whether they'll be allowed to stay (having proven themselves useful) to Vasiht'h discovering he has hangups about money, to others interacting with them in some odd ways. A mentorship, sort of, and an enemy, kind of. Of course everything comes right for them, eventually, but they (particularly Vasiht'h) discover a lot about themselves. This one is pretty much Vasiht'h's story, much less from Jahir's viewpoint. And the little bits at the end - extracts from their casebooks - are fascinating. I particularly liked the Fleet captain - actually, all the Fleet cases are neat. There's a fourth book, coming out (I hope) soon - can't wait! Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Jahir and Vasiht'h have earned their licenses as xenotherapists at last, and they have their hearts set on starting their practice in one of the Alliance's most exciting and cosmopolitan destinations: a sector starbase. But dream therapy is a revolutionary treatment modality, and as esper practictioners they will have to work hard to win the trust of their community. Not only that, but they have a deadline: if they can't prove themselves an asset to the starbase within six months, they'll have to leave! It'll take hard work, compassion, and a dollop of luck to navigate the pitfalls of this challenge? but surely two such extraordinary friends can find a way to claim their dream hearth.
