** I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

The continuing (hopefully for a long time!) journey through the books in this series has been amazing and very enjoyable for this cyborg fanatic. This latest addition is no exception, not least since we get two cyborgs this time!

The hero and heroine both bear understandable emotional baggage and their initial chance meeting, although starting well, ends with hurt feelings. Little did they realise that their paths would soon cross again in a professional capacity, where they have to work together on a dangerous mission.

There begins a fast-paced and riveting adventure laden with all manner of obstacles for Amanda Mansfield and Sonny Masters, who get to know each other in more ways than one along the way, including several sizzling and romantic close encounters. The action takes place on Lamis-Odg, a planet with a harsh environment, which is vividly imagined and brought to life by the author and made me cheer for Amanda and Sonny all the more. Amongst all the excitement are little gems of humour which are always a welcome and fun element in the author's writing.

I always love meeting characters that, although they aren't average by any means, are relatable because they not only dazzle my imagination with their physical and mental strength and extraordinary abilities but also show me that it's OK not to be perfect or 100% brilliant all the time. Cara Bristol has succeeded in creating super human-machine characters that are still very real, and this is one of my favourite must-read-this-book elements in this series.

I did feel the ending was a bit rushed, and would have liked to see events fleshed out more instead of the few details mentioned in the epilogue, to make for a more satisfying and cracking good mission accomplished conclusion and an even more meaningful HEA for Amanda and Sonny. A very small gripe, though, which doesn't affect my rating.

Like the other books, Trapped with the Cyborg can be read as a standalone story without missing out on anything, but the author has provided snippets about previous characters and their roles in the overall story arc, undoubtedly rekindling fond memories for followers of the whole series and sure to pique the curiosity of those starting with this book.

Five more Red Giant stars and a plea to keep 'em coming! ( )
