I'm literally only giving this two stars because Molly is pretty cool and Marjory is pretty cool.

This book was something of a physically painful experience in why I stopped reading the vast majority of paranormal romance.

Alpha-hole who fights the mating urge to a hot seven seconds - basically just long enough for Barely Sufficient Heroine to doubt he wants anything to do with her forever.

Barely Sufficient Heroine who questions why Alpha-hole isn't saying he loves her or talks to her about serious things even after learning her stalker is his deceased mate's half brother.

Overly convenient plot moments. Barely Sufficient Heroine needs to be attacked - contrive a reason why she's not with Alpha-hole so he has to save her and acknowledge their mating. Even if that contrived reason is completely invalidated three pages after being introduced.

INSTA LOVE JUST ADD MATE. Like Barely Sufficient Heroine is barely safe after months of being stalked and harrassed...but oh man she can't stop thinking about herate that is doing everything short of kicking her out to make her feel unwelcome.

So unwelcome she figures it's safer to leave the safety of his home.

When there's five deranged shifters just waiting for a chance to mess her up. I can't stress that enough.

In short this did not work for me. ( )

This was an enjoyable read, but then again, I have a big thing for Alpha males and stories that focus on shapeshifters. If you like paranormal romance, then give this one a try. For me I will be carrying on with the series. This Alphaville #1.

I do not normally read shape-shifter stories, but the description of this book sounded pretty good, so I thought I would give it a try. I was right, definitely not my genre. Not only was there shape shifting, coyotes, wolves, lions and bears, but there were rather steamy descriptive sex scenes which are also not my thing. However, saying all that, if you enjoy this genre, you will probably love this book, in fact one reviewer said this was the perfect guilty pleasure book if you are in the mood for a paranormal romance with protective alpha males, steamy sex scenes and intense action.

Renny is on the run from her home in California. Hot on her trail are a pack of coyotes, trying to bring her back to their Alpha, Geoffrey Hilliard, who has been stalking her and trying to force her to become his mate. She is heading to Alphaville in Washington State, a safe place for shifters. When Renny's car runs out of gas she has no choice but to shift into her red wolf form, and run towards Alphaville. The pack catches up to her just outside town on the property of an Alpha wolf, Mick. He investigates the noise and finds an injured Renny. He drives away the coyotes, injuring one, and calls the sheriff for help. Of course, being half animal, the magnetism between Renny and Mick is apparent to everyone and their inevitable mating comes later in the story.

I did like the wide cast of characters and how loyal and friendly they were to Renny. It was interesting to see the various animals they shifted into. The adventure was up and down throughout the story. While trying to track down the Alpha Coyote Stalker, there were mistakes, injuries, and some rather disgusting animal behaviour. The romance scenes were not many, but again, they were pretty descriptive. I did like the plot of the story . I thought the author did a great job at keeping the story interesting. There was always a new danger right around the corner.

My rating for this book was difficult to decide on. The story was well written, but it is just not my thing. I am going to be honest and state that if you like paranormal romantic suspense add a star to my rating.




Overall, this was a fun and addictive paranormal romance! If you are looking for sexy shifter romance, then this is the book for you! ( )

Its the last place Annie wanted to be after being tossed out of her own pack. But, in order to end her banishment, she must help out a shifter in Alpha. Turns out, the big bear shifter is her mate. The twist? This bear shifter doesn't believe in mates!

Something to Howl about was a quick read but it sets up the 'world' Warren is creating quite well. Annie and Jonas are likable characters and it is a bit of a hate-to-love twist on the fated mates trope.

Baby I'm Howling For You is the first full length book in the Alphaville series and centers around Renny and Mick, both wolves on the run (but for different reasons). Mick's mate died 8 years ago and he has refused to move on. Renny has a coyote stalker who won't move on. She ends up on Mick's front porch and finds her mate.

I will say that the plot is trite if you read PNR. Fated mates, quirky shifters, cartoonish bad guys, and other common themes are found. I was a little bothered by this, but I don't mind these tropes, so it didn't totally ruin the book.

Mick doesn't want a mate. He had one and she died. He fights the pull towards Renny, making it obvious he wants nothing to do with her. Then, suddenly, he mates her. Obviously, she is confused. Then he gets pissed when she voices her confusion. Mick was just kind of a jackass. I understood his pain and loss over his first mate, but his behavior was just rude, even after they mated. He never made Renny feel like he actually loved her. It was almost like she was a responsibility. Not sexy.

However, I loved Renny! She is sweet and funny. Her story is sad-no family, no friends, no pack, just a jerk of a stalker who won't take no for an answer. She isn't the type to want to put others at risk so she isn't willing to just sit around and let the residents of Alpha take over her life. She stands up to the men and isn't afraid of a fight. Frankly, she is a great character!

The plot unfolds around the hunt for the stalker combined with the mating relationship between Renny and Mick. You would think once they mate the issue is resolved, but its not! There are some funny supporting characters and some great banter between them that will keep things light and enjoyable. While I might have not liked Mick, I liked the town and the people and Renny enough to make this a great book!
