I tried - this book was well-written but held absolutely no interest for me. The conflict in the book seemed pretty superficial and whatever passed for drama was yawn-worthy. It's a shame I have others by her that I feel I have to try. ( ) I enjoy Tamera Leigh's portrayal of ordinary women who become extraordinary as they come to faith through adverse circumstances. Stealing Adda has been an entertaining read, from start to finish. The small idiosyncrises exhibited by the main character, Adda Sinclaire- from her nail polish obsession to her private nicknames for people- make her approachable and more real. She doesn't come into faith as a perfect character, the way some Christian authors portray their heroines. In fact, Adda is almost fallin apart when she finally takes the plunge into committing her life to Christ. The supporting cast, from the horrifying to the honestly amusing, are also flawed, like real people. My favorite characters in this book were Joyce, one of Adda's friends and fellow writers, and Sophia, Adda's friend and Nick's teenaged daughter. Both are strong characters in their own rights, characters that could prompt their own stories being written. And each plays a major part, despite their technical "supporting" roles. Both contribute to Adda's life- and faith- in different ways. The trials Adda goes through, from her "backstory" breakup with a cheating ex, to the bitter rivalry with a fellow author (who was her ex's 'other woman') that culminates in a plagiarism scandal (all neatly resolved for a happy and still-realistic ending), serve to cause her to draw near to God and become a Christian, to the delight of everyone around her (save, perhaps, for her agent). Like other titles I have read by Tamera Leigh, I was in no way disappointed by this funny, heartfelt novel. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

Bestselling author Adda Sinclaire has a nagging feeling something is missing in her life--besides the ex-husband who ran off with a fellow author and the dog he took with him. Surely it's more than just The Good Book. Or is it? Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
