Denver's story taking him back to the woman he loves to help her find her friend's kidnapped baby. With his 2 brothers & Montana family it's all hands on deck when Cobb & Madison are on their trail. Past & present clash with deathlike precision bringing an ending to the burning question of the men's parentage, the studies done on them, & risking their lives to rescue a baby with dire consequences. Best book of the trilogy since the author didn't use the word "rumbled" on every other page. ( ) I liked this book a lot! It was so nice to get Denver’s story and to finally get some resolution for the Blood Brothers series as well as the earlier Sin Brothers series. This is the third book in the Blood Brothers series which is a spin-off of the Sin Brothers series so I wouldn’t recommend reading this as a stand-alone if it can be avoided. I was hooked by this story very early on and was entertained until the story came to an end. Noni is desperate to find the infant that she is responsible for now that the baby’s mother has died. She knows that her old boyfriend Denver could help so she puts his photo all over the internet in hopes of finding him. She doesn’t realize that Denver is trying to stay hidden so putting his photo online may not be the best idea. They do end up working together to get the baby back from her biological father that has less than savory ideas for her welfare. Once the baby is safe, Denver and his brothers will have their own past to deal with. I liked Noni and Denver together. They had amazing chemistry together and I loved the fact that they were both very focused on doing whatever was necessary to keep the baby safe. We do learn a little more about Denver’s past and I loved that he was able to open up to Noni. It was great to see the brothers work together and I was thrilled to see them with the characters from the Sin Brothers series. There was plenty of action to keep things interesting and I thought that the book moved at a very nice pace. Karen White did an amazing job with the narration. She has been the voice of the series and I think that she has done a wonderful job with bringing this cast of characters to life. I think that she adds just the right amount of emotion to the more tender scenes and makes the action feel just a bit more exciting. I definitely believe that her narration added to my overall enjoyment of this story. I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this was a very well-done romantic suspense story with characters that were easy to fall for and enough action to keep the pages turning. I cannot wait to read more of this talented author’s work in the future. I received a review copy of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and I purchased a copy of the audiobook. Twisted Truths by Rebecca Zanetti The conclusion to the Blood Brothers trilogy and the Sin Brothers series. It can be read as a standalone but because it’s the conclusion, the prior books should be read in advance. Just because they are so good. Romantic suspense. Top of the genre. This is Denver’s story and happily ever after. Dr Madison and Sheriff Elton Cobb continue their pursuit of all the brothers. She is unrelenting in her master gene splicing and making of the ultimate soldier while he just wants revenge. The brothers can never relax, knowing Madison and Cobb could be just around the next corner. Love seems to be the more powerful source when all the brothers succumb. Non stop action and thrills. Loved the fast pace and the power of family. I’m sad to see this storyline end, but loved every minute of all seven books. Fantastic. My Rating: 4.5 Stars Denver Jones, along with brothers Heath and Ryker, are still trying to find Dr. Isobel Madison and Sheriff Elton Jones before they find them. If you have read Deadly Silence and Lethal Lies prior to reading this third book in the Blood Brother series, no doubt you will no why finding them in critical. As the story begins, Denver recounts his childhood and how he became embroiled in Madison's cruel life and why his life isn't his own, even as an adult. Well, Noni Yuka practically brings Madison et al to the Jones' doorstep. Noni's infant niece Talia has been kidnapped and Noni needs Denver's help. They were a couple at one time, and although Noni has no idea why Denver left her, she firmly believes that Denver, as a private detective along with his brothers, is the only one who can rescue Talia. Noni blasts on social media that she and Denver are a couple. Not only does this raise Denver's antenna, and he is more than eager to help, it also alerts Madison about the close proximity of Denver and his brothers. So, Denver has a boatload of troubles. No doubt, finding baby Talia and keeping Noni safe are critical to him. However, he knows Madison and Cobb will be close on his heels. Denver had very good reason for abandoning Noni. His life is the epitome of danger. Leaving Noni was Denver's best way of protecting her. Now they are forced back together. Their connection is more powerful than ever, but also is the abject danger. Denver not only wants to help Noni find the baby, he wants to keep his brothers and their significant others safe, all while finding his mortal enemies. For readers that have read the previous two books in the series, the fact that Denver truly regrets walking away from Noni is stressed. Now that she is back in his life, he is even more disillusioned. All Denver ever wanted was for Noni to be safe. Being back together is wonderful in many ways, but ultimately terrifying for Denver. As with the previous stories, danger and passion war for attention. As far as the danger is concerned, Madison and the Jones brothers are closer than ever and that makes things extremely hairy. Meanwhile, the search for the baby presents wild dangers as well, especially considering who has her. Twisted Truths is the third and final book in the Blood Brothers series. I read each story one after another and found myself completely enthralled. Ryker's story was first, then Heath's, and they were both amazing. However, there are extra layers to Denver's story and I found myself barreling through the story as I couldn't imagine how it would all work out. I love the Jones brothers, and from what I read of the Gray brothers (from the Sin Brothers series yet-to-read), I am truly impressed. Kudos to Ms. Zanetti for snatching a couple of days out of my life and giving me a group of amazing people to engage myself with. Many thanks to Forever for this ARC for review in exchange for my honest opinion. *Although I have the print ARC, I listened to this via audiobook. This version had a wonderful bonus scene. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Noni has worked hard to get over Denver ever since he left but when she needs to track down her sister's kidnapped baby, he's the only one she trusts to turn to. Denver can't believe the danger Noni has put herself in with plastering a picture of them together all over the internet. When he finds out about the baby though, he can't walk away. With the sheriff and Dr. tightening their circle around the Blood Brothers, Denver must protect Noni and the rest of his family. Twisted Truths is the final book in the Blood Brothers trilogy, which is a spin-off of the Sin Brothers series. It's a series dealing with genetically enhanced super soldiers who break free from their maker Dr. Madison and are on the run. While the Sin Brothers have all found their happily ever afters, they make appearances in this series but you wouldn't need to have read those books. I would highly suggest you read the other two books in the Blood Brothers trilogy though, as the continuing suspense storyline is very prevalent. "I've hurt you enough," he countered softly. She moved, turning and straddling him, her thighs outside his hard ones. Atop him, facing him, was exactly where she wanted to be. "Maybe this time I'll hurt you." His chin lifted, and his eyes darkened to a dangerous blue. Intensity, so sharp it hurt to see, swirled there. "You've already slayed me through, darlin'." The last book ended with Denver going off to find Noni, a woman he spent time with while he was working a case. She has plastered a picture of them together all over the internet trying to find him. What Noni doesn’t know is that Denver and his brothers are still trying to hide from a sheriff Cobb, brother to the man who ran the boys ranch Denver and his brothers were raised at. This brother liked to beat the boys and one night Denver, Ryker, and Heath end up killing him and run away. The sheriff has been searching for them ever since, along with Dr. Madison. She's the doctor who created all the super soldiers, but always claiming Denver was special. When Denver finds Noni, she tells him how her foster care sister overdosed and the gangbanger father took the baby and plans to sell her. Denver agrees to help her out. If it sounds like a lot of action happening to you, you'd be right. The story started off at a run right away. Which if you're more action oriented you would like, but some character and relationship development got left behind. We never really get to know Noni (get a feel for Denver in the previous two books) and since Denver and Noni's relationship had started off screen, we never get to experience them falling in love. We get a sex scene about 30% in and I can't say I really felt any emotion from it. There are no flashbacks to their previous relationship and no time for them to stop and develop one as they are either on the run from Cobb and Madison or trying to get the baby. The story had a little bit of rinse and repeat with Denver sensing danger, Noni refusing to be sent away to safety, people shooting at them, getting away from danger, Denver trying to refuse help from his brothers, going to a new safe house, and then the steps all repeating again. Our series villains didn't seem to quite have the weight they did in the previous books, Cobb was his violently psychotic self but almost rigidly so and instead of Dr. Madison being her scientifically psychotic brilliantly cunning self, she was ultimately shifted more toward kooky psychotic. The characters personalities and the story plot just seemed to run out of steam towards the end. As I mentioned, you'll want to have at least read the other books in the Blood Brothers trilogy, or you'll be hopefully lost. For those of you that have, you'll greatly enjoy a return to Denver, Ryker, and Heath's brotherly relationship with all the other Sin Brothers making some appearances. The romance just didn't worm it's way in enough for me here but even though it didn't quite have the potency ending I was looking forward to, I still enjoyed our boys getting their happily ever afters. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
