Mason O'Reilly was thrilled to get his latest contract to plan a wedding at his friends' LGBTQ-friendly venue. The scale and scope of the event signals a high-end client, and he is committed to getting everything right. But when the client, Noah Wright, arrives and is disappointed that his sister's wedding to her lovely groom as been planned for two grooms, everything looks like it's about to spin out of control. But Mason is a consummate professional and not willing to let this become a blemish on his record as one of the best. But it's not exactly professional to crush on the client, is it? After the fun and games and all the shenanigans in the previous Leaning N novel, the very memorable ‘Commitment Ranch’, I was really looking forward to another story set on this quirky Colorado ranch with all its wonderful characters. As it turns out, not only did I get to see Ford, Stoney, and their crew again, but BA Tortuga also treated me to two new main guys and assorted secondary characters - people who are every bit as eccentric and unforgettable as the ones from the first book. Wedding planner Mason and billionaire Noah are more complicated than they seem at first sight, their relationship is obstacle-ridden, but they are so right for each other I kept rooting for them no matter what.

Mason is a wedding planner who isn’t easily phased by anything much. He has already dealt with most catastrophes imaginable, but the one fate decides to throw at him this time is a doozy. The destination/society wedding he assumed was two men getting married turns out to be a man and a woman – and Mason only finds out four days before the event when the bride’s brother, Noah, turns up for some last-minute checking. Oh boy, does that keep Mason on his toes!

Noah is a billionaire oil tycoon from Texas who runs the family business, is paying for his sister’s wedding, and is about as detail-oriented and perfection-obsessed as you’d imagine a businessman of his caliber to be. Luckily he is also a nice guy – well, once you get to know him – and he jumps right into the fray. He isn’t impressed with the fact that such a basic mistake was made, but he does admire Mason for the way he deals with everything.

Mason and Noah’s relationship is very intense from the start, but there is a lot of initial animosity and rubbing-each-other-the-wrong way as well. As this gradually changes into mutual respect and even admiration, both men begin to realize there may be more between them than friendship. Neither of them is ready to give up their job though, and with Mason being established in Colorado and Noah’s intense ties to Texas, for the longest time it doesn’t look like anything much will come of their very passionate encounters. Mason and Noah both have a lot of soul searching and growing to do before they can figure out what to do.

There is a lot of humor in this story, and the characters’ antics made me laugh out loud more than once. From the various family members to the dogs, everyone in this book is an individual, and I loved getting to know them all. Getting to see how Ford and Stoney from the first volume are getting on was a special treat, and I really hope there will be more stories set on the Leaning N!

If you like watching intense businessmen who are used to running their own show come to terms with wanting to build a personal life, if you enjoy lots of humor with your romance, and if you’re looking for a read that runs the gamut from personal tension to verbal sparring to fabulous physical encounters, then you will probably like this novel as much as I do. It is as hilariously entertaining as it is romantic – especially the ending!
