While Imogen O'Sullivan is preparing for her upcoming wedding at her family home in Ireland her ex-lover Raoul Cardini comes back into her life. He was invited by Imogen's father, who doesn't know that Imogen and Raoul knew each other before. (Imogen and Raoul had a short-lived romance a couple of years ago and now Raoul believes Imogen aborted their baby...she didn't, she had an ectopic pregnancy. Imogen doesn't know Raoul found out about the pregnancy.)

Imogen's planning to marry a wealthy friend (Adnan) to help get her father out of debt. But when Adnan walks in on Raoul and Imogen in a compromising situation Adnan decides to call the wedding off. This was an enjoyable read. It was a bit slow at times, but I did like the heroine Imogen. She was caring, sweet, and strong. At first Raoul wasn't very likable (probably because he was misinformed about the pregnancy/abortion and was angry and wanted revenge) but he started to get nicer and more considerate and thoughtful when he discovered what really happened about the pregnancy.
