This left Roa alone, with only her sister's spirit to keep her company. But even this is fading, leaving Roa to believe her sister will soon be gone forever, if she doesn't do something. The only something she can do is to kill the person that should have died, instead of Essie. This person is now the king. Roa begins making a strategy to do that, but will she be able to go through with it? I enjoyed the book. You could sympathize with the Roa and what she was going through, with the loss of her sister. You could also understand why she would even contemplate killing the king, to get her sister back. But as things become clearer for the reader, things get harder on Roa, as she realizes it is not easy to kill someone, especially someone that is the king. It all works out in the end.
