This was a fun book to read. I’m not usually a fan of “time travel” novels, but this book was recommended to me by a friend, so I took a chance. And I’m glad I did. The way it was written made it actually believable! I was most anxious to discover if Jim makes it back to today. I think anyone who reads this book will have a good time.

How about an easy-to-read, easy-to-escape-into time travel tale that takes you back to the Wild West where one 21st century man finds the meaning of true love and what is important in life? Never mind the time space continuum, some men were just born out of time or maybe their reincarnated spirit went to its happy place in the past. Either way, Walter Danley’s BLASTED PAST is like taking a walk through history as it should be told.

Jim Nagle was a successful businessman with a failed marriage, a son who was a stranger and just maybe that accident that sent him back to 1872 was God’s way of putting him the right path as he witnesses social injustice, outright lawlessness and the brutality towards Native Americans that our modern day sensibilities would be loath to see. He finds peace of mind, a sense of purpose and true love, not to mention a world he finally fits into with ease.

Warm, simple storytelling filled with researched facts, this journey back in time is an intriguing and completely entertaining read that was impossible for me to put down! Definitely an original tale that crosses genres without being “way out there” as one man rapidly adapts to another way of life that fits him like a glove.

You can't beat Walter Danley for putting together the kind of story everyone wants to read. I am a big fan of his Wainright series, but this one blew me away.

I am the author who states, "Research is the story before it's written." No one knows this better than Danley. His research for Blasted Past is obvious to any who read it. The detail given throughout this compelling story is amazing! It makes it so authenic you might think the story is true!

As an author, I am also a lover of reading, and I can tell you, this one is worth reading! The one question I have for Walter Danley is: When is the 2nd book going to be out?
