This is followed by a FYI/further information section, a real-life scenario, quotes from real girls who have dealt with this type of situation, a quiz, and coping strategies. The format will be appealing to young girls, what with the scenarios and quizzes, and the book does offer coping strategies for dealing with different difficult situations. The empowerment chapters--The Power of One (which details what one girl can do to combat meanness at school), and The Power of Several (what several girls can do together to combat meanness)--are particularly useful. LOVE THIS BOOK!! It is a must read for all girls and women for that matter. I am almost 40 years old and can still think of "friends" that fit into every single category discussed. Young adults will feel like they are talking with a friend rather than being lectured by a self-help book. I highly recommend for middle school and high school girls. My only question is, "what is the one for boys called?" ( )
