This is a very quick read on the "Ken and Barbie Killers". While the book is accurate and presents the facts of the case, it does not go into very much detail. This book would be great for someone who just wants to learn a little about what happened, but doesn't want to dive deep into the crimes. There are other books that do cover a lot more details of the case out there. The authors don't go into the gory details on the crimes, which would be good for someone who enjoys true crime but doesn't necessarily enjoy how grisly the details can be. If these names don’t sound familiar, let’s called them the Barbie and Ken dolls they had back then. But this pair of horrific murderers, Karla Homolka [Barbie] and Paul Bernardo [Ken], might have seemed to appear to be sweet and innocent, were actually quite ingenious as they attacked and killed their victims. This pair, like their doll counterparts who shared a dream, had a dream house; but theirs became the site where their heinous crimes took place. While one of them had been the Machiavelli and other was its puppet perpetrating the actual manslaughters. Like the television series “You Are There” (1953-1971) hosted by Walter Cronkite which showed reenactments of historical events; this book, by Ryan Becker and Nancy Veysey, pulls their readers into the midst of the deplorable details of their actions, and gets visualized by the painstaking manner in which the book has been written. The story of the escapades of these individuals shows that the truth ofttimes be far more unbelievable than any fictional murder novel one can read. Their murders might have continued if it hadn’t been for an event which caused their world to come plummeting down. What was this crucial event? What are the details of this series of evil deeds committed by this pair? Curiosity had killed the cat, and it had been satisfaction that brought it back. So, if your curiosity has been aroused regarding this pair and their story, the only way is to get a copy of this book. My curiosity had gotten satisfied, which is why I’ve given this book 5 STARS. "This graphic account of convicted killers, Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka, shows that in some relationships, neither party is the "better half." Both halves of this Canadian couple add up to one evil story." -- Amazon.com Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
