A Bespectacled Bluestocking, A Clueless Rake and a mad dash to Gretna Green Miss Emily Goodnight-who cannot see a thing without her blasted spectacles-is raising the art of meddling to new heights. Why leave her future in the hands of fate when she's perfectly capable of managing it herself? Annabelle Anders does another great job with this addition to her Devilish Debutantes Series. In this case a bluestocking, wallflower Emily Goodnight meets her match in the rake Marcus, Lord Blakley, heir to the Duke of Waters.
Both face family issues. She is being sent to Wales to live with an aunt unless she finds a husband ASAP. He has been separated from his family for over 10 years over women problems. Marcus believes his father separated him from the woman he loved and who was pregnant with is child, and he is refusing to marry the woman his father has betrothed him to.
Emily and Marcus had been friends for a year but when she plots to get him to marry her friend Rhoda, she is the one who accidentally finds herself in a coach with Marcus traveling to Gretna Green.
Of course you know they will finally find their Happily Ever After, there are some bumps along the road getting to it. ( )

I'm reading this series backwards. Not the first time for me. I started with Annabelle Anders Hell Of A Lady, book 4 of the Devilish Debutants series. I'd never read any of Ms Anders work so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked that book. The characters were wonderful but...I was intriqued by another couple. That's what sent me on this backwards trip. Hell's Belle is book 3 in this series, originally published in September of 2018. I went straight away to Amazon and bought it. No regrets.

Marcus Roberts, Earl of Blakely is a catch. He doesn't want to be caught but still...one never knows. Handsome, single, Earls don't grow on trees, sometimes you have to pluck them. Marcus has a problem that sooner or later he must address. An arranged marriage, compliments of his father. So far he's avoided the lady in question but time is running out. He's somewhat infatuated with a bespeckled, socially awkward, bluestocking he's been watching at all the balls this season.

Miss Emily Goodnight is the bluestocking in question. If she doesn't find a husband this season, her parents intend to send her to Wales the absolute middle of nowhere. Companion to Aunt Gertrude, oh the horror. While working on her problem she decided to play matchmaker for a friend. Said friend needs to marry fast to kill a brewing scandal. Marcus fits the bill, needs to marry and isn't looking for love.

A mix-up has Marcus and Emily thrown together and neither is upset with the notion. They decide to see where things go. There is a tiny (right) problem that must be taken care of before the happy ending. These two provide hot making out and hot sex. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did. Happy reading. ( )
