Vaguely amusing pastiche of the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" drivel. Very uneven - some of the tales were screamingly funny, others wincingly bad. Dated too - written long before any state had legalized recreational pot. Worth a run through for the history, I suppose, and stories from some of the better known names of the period (Robert Anton Wilson, Hunter Thompson, Mark Mothersbaugh, Wavy Gravy, etc...) (

Wildly uneven, of course. Duuuuuude, ya, think? Um, yeah, duuuude. The best piece, for my money, is Harlan Ellison's cranky-ass forward. Ellison is adorable, and never so adorable as when he's on his high horse. The following essays range from the sublime to the utterly ridiculous. (

Krassner mocks those damned Chicken Soup books with interesting anecdotes from a variety of people taken from High Times magazine over the years.
It's just a fun read and rpovokes us to remember our own pot stories. (

This is a very interesting, very ecclectic collection of stories that i sat down and read from cover to cover. They are not all pro-marijuana and not all hippie-generation, not all well written, but i would definitely reccomend it. There was supposed to be an Acid Trips for the soul that i was waiting for but i never saw it (
