Connor is in Mexico on a job when everything suddenly goes wrong. Dejectedly, he returns home knowing that he failed and his principal and friend paid the ultimate price. He understands that none of his teammates will want anything to do with him after his failure but finds it strange that nobody responds when he requests pick up. When he arrives back at the compound, he realizes that it has been attacked. Steve is dead and everyone except Amir is gone. Connor and Amir go on the run, trying to find out what happened and where the rest of the team has gone, but it isn't long before loyalties are tested and trust becomes a rare commodity.

Fugitive is the last in the Bodyguard series and ends it with a bang. Fevered action and suspense drive this story that is laced with loss and sorrow. It is fitting that since the series began with Connor and Amir that it should also end with these two characters being in the center of the action. As the characters attempt to take down Equilibrium, lies come to the surface that make Connor question who he can trust, but the end of the story is satisfying even if it isn't a totally happy. Overall, Fugitive concludes this series in an enjoyable fashion. ( )
