I loved this story about Yogi. I think this picture book displays his entire life story in such a short, simplified, and respectful way. Yogi seems to have had a hard life dealing with different insecurities, but he never lets anything get in the way of his love of baseball. His hard work and dedication got him all the way to the World Series, but not before he had to go through many more hardships. ( )

Yogi Berra loved baseball. He worked hard his entire life to be able to play for the Yankees. Many people didn't believe in him, but he believed in himself so he made it. He broke many records making history. This story made me want to cry because of how many horrible things people said and wrote about Yogi's looks. I liked how the story had quotes from Yogi throughout it. They were inspiring and made the story more memorable. The images looked like paintings. They were beautiful and expressive in a way that made me feel like I was seeing it all playback in my own mind. ( )

Yogi Berra was one of the most complicated, simplistic men to ever play baseball. Most said he would never make it. Some wondered how he made it. Now, all who have played the sport and quite a few who have not have all heard of Yogi Berra. Berra overcame how people saw him, mean things they said about him, how they laughed, and even how they hoped for the very least for him to become if not the most popular major league baseball player of all time, then certainly one of the most remembered.
