Star Trek does their take on Marvel's Contest of Champions or Secret Wars with crews from four different TV series -- TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY -- pitted against each other as game pieces in a dispute among four of of the universe's omnipotent species: Q Continuum, Metrons, Organians, and whoever claims Trelane, the bratty Squire of Gothos. It's a good time for Trekkies like me.

Slight drawbacks: The focus is on Picard, which is okay until you consider that Kirk is standing RIGHT THERE! Also, the crews are sorted into teams that mix members from the various ships, so we don't get a true head-to-head competition of Enterprise NCC-1701 vs. Enterprise NCC-1701-E vs. Defiant vs. Voyager, though the cross-ship interaction mostly makes up for that. And I feel sorry for anyone who is not familiar with all four series, because little time is devoted to introducing any of the characters or their backstories. ( )
