The key word for this collection is, say it with me now, "shenanigans."

A lighter approach where we get to see both Ben's boys' night out bachelor party and Alicia's girls' night out party, and Ben remembering how to dance, as well as the wedding itself, is funny and often quite sweet.

All the writers and artists have some fun. While I didn't feel it was necessary to rehash the FF's origin yet again, they did handle it okay.

But it was the handling of Reed Richards that pissed me off. While he's always been portrayed as a bit stiff and uncool, I truly can't see him ever shirking the best man duties, or failing to show at the bachelor party. Regardless of what he did at the end, he was far too full of dick moves beforehand to really cleave to the "family first" ideals that underpin this book. ( )

Well, it took 60 years, but Ben Grimm finally married Alicia Masters. The old fanboy in me is quite happy. I'm a little put off by the many dumb stripper and strip poker gags shoved into this book as well as the contradictory continuity of the bachelorette party presented in two short stories by two different writers (Hey, goof-off editor, do I get a No-Prize if I suggest Alicia had two bachelorette parties with almost the same groups of people in the two days before her rushed wedding?), but there are many nice touches throughout that pay tribute to the long history of this romance and the complicating factors that have kept the two lovebirds apart.

That Puppet Master puppet callback, by the way, is positively chilling. ( )
