The book starts when they are abroad with work and they get in to some trouble. Gabriel is the silent wrong brooding type and Lilian is all sunshine and roses, the glass is always half full type. This book is sweet and really quite funny. HEA. Epilogue. It is a novella so it's not very long but is packed full. There are links to The Killers series and Susan Stoker's series as Tex helps them out. Blackburn Special Forces: Operation Alpha I Picked Up This Book Because: Cover lust. The Characters: Lillian Burkette: Gabriel Blackburn: The Story: I chose this audiobook on a whim from Netgalley’s new audio ARC program. I am not disappointed. This was a face paced action packed romp through a jungle set off by a super steamy break then dropped into incredible family drama. I’ve never read anything from Ms Asher before and that needs to change. The story kept my headphones glued in my ears until the end. Gabriel is definitely a take charge alpha male but Lillian is no shrinking flower and they make a good team. They also have rockin' chemistry and that doesn’t hurt. 😉 The narrators were also great. The Random Thoughts: 4 Stars 4.8 stars This book was the first that I have read from this author and it most assuredly will not be my last. this book was fantastic. The blurb alone drew me in and I thought it would be a cute read. It was so much more than that. I literally snorted water up my nose in a couple of parts (Gabe's mental musing on his Crazy Aunt Libby and her cats) This was one of those books that I read faster and faster because I wanted to know what was going on and then instantly felt sad because that would mean the book would be over sooner than I wanted it to be. Gabe, one word. Perfect. Lillian. This sweet little ray of sunshine had a way of bringing light into anyone who had the chance to be in her presence. Together, Gabe and Lillian were the ideal BBF and his love interest that so many authors strive to have. This author wrote them well. I loved the dual point of views so that I was able to get to know the inner workings and thoughts they both had. It made them multi-faceted. It also is partly why the chemistry worked as well as they did. The stylistic choices, word choice, cadence, tone, world-building, and scene were spot on. It is for this reason that I know I will go check out more of her work because I am hooked on her work and now want all of her words. This is a typical office romance. There is backstory as well as things happening behind the scenes going on as well. Move this up on your TBR. You can thank me later! keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

She's my employee. I'm her boss's boss. Hell, I own the company. Pursuing Lillian Burkette was a line I shouldn't cross. Until a work trip from hell changed everything. I didn't just step over the line. I annihilated the damn thing. When it comes to her, there's nothing I wouldn't do. I'd even kill for her. When they say the corporate world is a jungle ... they have no idea. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
