It's hard to believe it's been over 25 years since I picked up that first Strangers in Paradise comic book. What's easier to believe is that Moore just keeps on creating wonderful stories with those and his newer characters from Echo, Rachel Rising, and Motor Girl.

I've said it before, I'll keep right on saying it. Terry Moore is incapable of telling a bad story. He creates and relates, through word and art, some of the most human stories I've ever read. Twice in this volume, he had me choked up.

He's easily one of the top people working in the comics medium today. ( )

This is the second Terry Moore graphic novel I've read, after 'Echo'. I've noticed patterns. Moore is prolific. He has a fine sparse style without much shadow, which reminds me a little of Scott McCloud or some manga artists. He likes drawing detailed landscapes and women, usually young and athletic but not necessarily superheroic.

I haven't read other 'Strangers in Paradise' books but this one summarises what has gone before. The heroine, Katchoo, used to run with a bunch of women agents called the Parker Girls, but now she is married to a lovely lady and has two kids. Now she is tracking down a woman named Stephanie, who might spill the beans on the Parker Girls and ruin Katchoo's new life. A government conspiracy is involved (it is related to the one in 'Echo'), as well as some quite unexpected mysticism. ( )
