I was planning to read East of Eden, because I should read more classic fiction, but I'm in a hellish place emotionally and spend my days grieving, so I needed something sweet and easy, and which allowed me not to think for a while, because right now thinking is hell. So I picked up Twice in a Blue Moon, and it was just right.

Tate is 18 years old when she goes on her first trip abroad, to London, with her grandmother. There she meets Sam and is swept away by him, and he loves her in return....and then he betrays her deepest secret and never contacts her again. So despite the fact that Tate becomes a talented Hollywood actress, her love life never works because she doesn't know how to trust anymore. And then, fourteen years after London, she walks onto a film set and there is Sam.

It's easy for Tate to fall in love with Sam again because what's been holding her back with other guys is the fact that she never stopped loving Sam. He loves her right back, but can she be with a man who betrayed her? Is forgiveness possible?

Nicely written, love talk without being saccharine, sexy without smut, this book is what I needed today. I'm glad I read it, and grateful that there are books in the world for whatever mood you're in, and for whatever hell you're living through. Books may not be a cure, but they're a wonderful painkiller for the hours you spend with them. This was a good one, and I thank the authors. ( )

I think this is the second book in a row by this author duo that has left me cold. Took me forever to read this book that normally I'd read in about two days.

Hard to get into, totally uninvested in the characters, didn't care at all about the central plot points.

(Caveat: I'm sick and maybe it's just my own bad attitude clouding my appreciation here.) ( )

It somehow feels like CLo are rushing to get books in print. I really enjoyed their older books especially Josh & Hazel, Love aOS, Roomies and Half-night stand but I felt a type of way about the last one - Unhoneymooners. Alas I enjoyed this even less. Because at least in Unhoneymooners my gripe was not about the main couple, I bought their union and was annoyed at their blowout and the male lead. However here I just didn't get that feel with the main couple and once I fail to buy that in a Romance novel, what's left? ( )
