Having read "The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl" recently and finding it absolutely delightful, I was keen to read another novel by this author. While "The World Ends in April" was a nice read, it didn't have the charm of the first novel. I loved Lucy's voice in "The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl". The author captured her insecurities and misgivings perfectly. However, Eleanor wasn't as likeable. I thought she was annoying for much of the book and while I liked her best friend, Mack, the other secondary characters never won me over. ( )
