There are a million stories about naïve girls being taken by beautiful monsters. In some of them, the monster is a tortured soul with a damaged past, but even then, that monster is redeemable. This is not one of those stories. My monster revels in the carnage he creates. My monster is a villain with no redemption, one that revels in the malice he inflicts. My reality is dark. His demons are darker. And though I love my monster with every beat of my morbid heart, this is no fairy-tale.For me, there is no happily ever after.Dahlia Saga*This saga contains EXTREMELY dark themes. Macabre is at times uncomfortable, dark, disturbing, and twisted. What am I saying at times? Pretty much all the time it is all those things, and more. Writing this kind of story is what Natalie Bennett truly excels at. She knows just how to make you uncomfortable while you are reading her books, but you can't help but keep reading them because they are soo good and you can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

Morganna and Julian are both so f'ed up, in different ways. I mean, the ways that they twisted and screwed up are the same in some ways, but also completely different, and they have completely different ways to handle it.

I'm not entirely sure that I would even put this into the darkest of dark romance category, but I would definitely call it dark. I think there is some form of love in there, somewhere. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be love as you or I would look about it or think about it, but it's there. It's psychotic, obsessive, disturbed, and deviant love.

The book left me itchy and needing more. ( )

I'm at a loss

This author's mind terrifies me. I'm at a loss as to what I can even say about this book. It's horrific but I couldn't stop reading. That says something about her skill. Definitely not for someone to read if they are the least bit squeamish. ( )

This was absolutely insane

I mean what a sick and twisted playground The Chateau Dahlia actually is.
It was just so fucked up and wrong and I devoured every deliciously depraved word.
This really is a story for those with a strong stomach and a deviant streak.
Julian weaves a wicked wanton web to lure his prey, setting his trap ready to spring shut when the time is right, ensnaring Morgana in all his malevolent mercy.

So Julian can sense the skewy moral compass in Morgana, his plan? to nurture and stoke that flame until it shines as bright as his own and he has an equal to stand by his side.
He just didn't count on the insane connection between them that sings to his sadist and in turn, feeds her inner masochist leaving it sated and sane.
So this is full of very dubious and non-consent throughout and involves some extremely questionable behaviour.
I mean these people are seriously sick I cannot stress that enough, there is hardcore everything in this book and nobody is ever really redeemable not even Morgana.

I adore that this is incredibly unapologetic, and man when Julian and Morgana get freaky that shit is seriously insane.
And my god that shocking finale ( I have read depravity previously so had an inkling) but still seriously what a play.
Bravo, round of applause from me.

Poor Morgana is in so deep she feels there no way forward.
I wish she could have pulled on her reserves more than she did.
There were also some unanswered questions that I would have liked some closure on as well.

So yeh really adored this myself but I like them a lot on the psychotic side.
Please heed my warnings on this one it's seriously dark, not grey but black as night.
This is not a romantic love story or a girl redeems boy.
It's a story of monsters that stay that way and certainly doesn't pull its punches.
If you like that kinda thing then this one is a sure thing.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Macabre: A Dahlia Saga Novel.
