This book of poems contains a page each containing a realistic, glorious illustration of a woodland animal. The poem describes their behavioral and physical appearance. Some poems are longer than others. Some rhyme and some do not. The pictures are almost as informative as the words. The book ends with two informational pages that contain more information, not in poem form, about each animal. This would be a good book to use to discuss the difference between rhyming poetry and free verse. ( )
