Re-read 2021: I have nothing to add to what I wrote last year, except that the re-read was once again a good idea. And, again, I read this exclusively, again, in two days, despite other books awaiting attention. I wish there was a The Flophouse 2 waiting for me, but I can be patient. Ish.

Yes!

I devoured this novel in two days, two only because I was trying not to read fast. It's so good! I loved the Johnnies series (5 titles starting with Chase In Shadow) and the Fish Out of Water series, (5 titles starting with that one), plus the side novel Racing For the Sun, and how they intersect, and this is a new series, same world. Yes!

I am jealous of and thrilled for all you readers who've yet to discover these. You can start with this one if you like, there's enough back story to do that. But if you want to pick up on all the stuff off-screen, read about the porn stars, and the PI and his shark, and then re-read this one. ( )

Amy Lane creates such warm and wonderful characters. I was happy to see the guys from Johnnies again and any chance to see my two favorites...Ellery and Jackson from the [Fish Out of Water] series is a winner anytime. I sincerely hope she writes more with these characters. I liked that the story was told more from Henry's perspective rather than relying on the reader's memory. I also liked that things just fell into place for Henry and Lance....two really deserving characters. Anyway...it’s pretty hard to improve on perfection. Keep them coming Amy! ( )
