Jean Fritz has an interesting Forward in the book explaining why she writes biographies. The book is written about a little known translator from the Jamestown colony who lived with the Algonquians off and on until he was in his teens. Although the story is about Thomas Savage's life, it is an interesting account of the struggles of Jamestown and of its leaders. It is amazing the colony survived. This would be a good supplementary book for those studying Jamestown and American history. There are a few illustrations scattered throughout but the book is more information oriented.
