I really love this series that Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara has going. These non-fiction, children's picture book introductions to famous figures are fabulous!

This time around we learn about Greta Thunberg. This young Swedish girl is a great environmental activist with a sweet story. She's a normal girl who is changing the world! With selective mutism and Asperger's, Greta had a magical super power for being able to focus on and stand up for what she believed in.

This is a great introduction to Greta and is a wonderful source of empowerment! Other young readers can be just like her and change the world.

The biggest issue I have with these books is that I personally don't like the art style. It doesn't sit well with my eyes and it doesn't look very pleasing. It doesn't affect my reading pleasure, but that is my negative!

Four out of five stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. ( )

This book is part of a series called Little People, Big Dreams by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. There are currently 50 books about all kinds of trailblazers, historical figures, and important icons. The book starts with a story about Greta written for an early elementary school level. This illustrations are vibrant and invoked the feel of where Greta lives. I enjoyed the section with a facts and photos at the back. Adult readers can also download a teacher’s guide from their website to use for students. Overall, this is a great story with some interesting facts that are easily accessible for young readers. ( )

This book gives a very child friendly biography of the life of Greta Thunberg, who is someone that stands up for climate change and global warming laws to be enacted. She started with a simple protest and inspired millions of people to protest with her, and at a young age she spoke to a large group of politicians to try to enact change. This book would be great for me to use with students because it shows that what one might consider 'the average person' has the power to make change. It gives the chance for students to reflect within and see what is important to them and how they might make personal choices that could get others inspired for that cause too. ( )

It all started with one girl. Greta heard about pollution and climate change and decided that she would be the one person who would make a difference. And she did!
The illustrations by Anke Weckmann are simple, colorful, and eye-catching.
I requested and received a free temporary ebook copy from Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books, Frances Lincoln Children's Books via NetGalley. Thank you! ( )
