Induction is a fun and serious romp through the world of the paranormal. Led by the young adults in the family, Sin, for Sinclair and Sid, for Sidonie are twins and, unusual in the same family, a shifter and a witch.
Something is rotten in Belle Cove, the town they live in. The Belle Cove Police Department, BPD, is supposed to hand off any paranormal crime to the SPD, the Supernatural Police Department, but incidents keep happening to interfere.
Induction is a story about prejudice, species, racial and gender persecution. A bitterness that goes back through multiple family lines and is growing through the next generation.
T. K. Eldridge does a great job making a controversial topic easy to read by developing her characters into such relatable people.
The only thing I would change is the constant drinking of alcohol by both the young adults and the older ones. Personally, I think the story is strong enough without it and the precedent it sets for young readers.
Induction kept me hanging on every word and left me waiting for the next book in the series. (
