Warriors continue where Written left off. The first book was world-building, and now we are getting some more character development. Callum was brought up in a military family and was used because of his tactical abilities in the war between Enmaire and Vermenia where he became known as the Toy Soldier because of his youth. Now his father wants to embroil him in the coming conflict. Even better if he can use Joanna's Scribe magic.
Meanwhile, Joanna is still trying to figure out how to use her unique magic as well as how to fit into a long-established coven with three very different men. It's an interesting premise, and Ms. Moon does a nice job of weaving the story together. She adds enough uncertainty to Joanna's actions to not make her a total Mary Sue. I also liked the politics, how Aiden had to deal with various factions while worrying about his coven mates. Isaac got a bit of short shrift (though I think his turn is coming) while the addition of another new coven and their members added to the story. And there's definitely enough steam to heat up the story. It's a fascinating combination of fantasy and erotica that makes a lot of sense within a coven setting. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. ( )
