I love this book. I really love this book because it reminds me of the stories my sister told me about when I was born. I also love this book because of how relatable it is to real world situations. In the book Arthur, D.W., and his grandmother go to see the new born baby. I remember my sister telling me about the time she went to see me and my mother at the hospital. The other reason I liked the book was because it was relatable to the real world. “I think babies are taking over the world”, said Arthur” Arthur was very nervous about having a new baby in the house. This is a feeling that many children and even parents face every day. Arthur’s emotions in the book reminded me of the times when I found out I was going to have a baby cousin. Reading this book made me realize that everything will be okay. The big idea of this book was that it is okay to be nervous about things because change can be scary but you will get through it. ( )

Arthur's family is expecting a baby and everyone is excited. But Arthur wonders, will the new baby change everything? Again I like that kids can relate to this topic of parents bringing home a sibling and how things will change around the house.

As a huge fan of the television series, I was greatly disappointed at the lazy and sub-par writing of the books. The illustrations are very poorly done as well (especially if you have older editions of the books). Not good. just watch the show; it's on at seven on PBS every morning. ( )

D.W. has to ask for Arthur's help to keep Baby Kate from crying, he steps in and learns that the new addition to his family isn't so bad after all. This book would pair well with Kevin Henkes Juilus Baby of the World. ( )
