An enchanting new royal romance from NYT bestselling author Rachel Hauck
Daffodil Caron is not a princess, even though she once dreamed of being one. After all, she grew up as a playmate to royal princes, running through the halls of Perrigwynn Palace in the North Sea's Lauchtenland. But the day she stumbled upon a royal secret, everything changed.
Flash forward eighteen years, and Daffy's living a sweet, non-royal life. A skilled art curator for the Royal Trust, she has friends, a flat in the heart of the capital city, and a handsome, successful boyfriend. The last person on her mind is Gus, the prince she once called her best mate.
HRH Prince Augustus is no longer "Prince Pudgy," as caricatured by the pressâ??he's charming and gorgeous, possessing a world-famous smile. But after he's jilted at the altar, then dumped by his second fianceé, the spare heir to Lauchtenland's ancient House of Blue finds solace on a Florida beach.
A year as a regular bloke allows him to rethink his purpose. He's half decided his calling is to pour pints at a tiki bar rather than serve his country and the Family.
But a wild Frisbee toss down the beach changes his destiny.
Despite his long hair and beard, Daffy recognizes her prince. She reminds Gus of his heritage and assures him that he's needed in Lauchtenland.
When Daffy and Gus find themselves on assignment at Hadsby Castle in preparation for his brother's wedding ball, their friendship blooms into affection.
Then secrets are exposed, and Gus must choose between his past hurts and his future hope. And Daffy must trust her heart to forever love a prince.
"To Love a Prince is breathtaking and enchanting! Rachel Hauck is the queen of inspirational royal romance." â?? Teri Wilson, bestselling author of Unleashing Mr. Darcy and Christmas Cha

Oh, what a joy! If you love Rachel Hauck’s past royal romances, you do not want to skip this new one, To Love a Prince!

As Hauck transports readers to a new country, she shares an oh so sweet story between Daffodil Caron and her childhood friend, HRH Prince Augustus. They may have grown since their carefree days as playmates, yet their friendship proves easy to renew when they need it now, facing the complications of adulthood (especially since those complications involve the pressures of royalty).

Following Daffy and Gus through this story together is enjoyable and uplifting. Their friendship turns to romance and they better understand who they are and what they are meant to do—and I just loved them. To Love a Prince is such a solid read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own. ( )

What I think you should know:
To Love a Prince by Rachel Hauck is the first book in the True Blue Royal series. Although this book is the first in a series it follows up with a few of the characters from Hauck’s book , The Fifth Avenue Story Society. You can read this book first, but you will understand a little more about the background of Prince Augustus if you have read the prior book first.

What I think about this book:
Hauck has a wonderful way of bringing her characters to life in a way that they could easily be one of your friends. Daffy was such a wonderful character, I felt so bad for her in many of the situations in the book and was pulling for her. I loved Coral in The Fifth Avenue Story Society so I was super excited to get to read her ex fiance’s story! Prince Augustus was not what I had expected him to be from Coral’s story. It was interesting to get to know him. I love how the story showed that choices that you make in the past can come back to haunt you. The story kept me turning the pages and I did not want it to end. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. ( )

If you are looking for a romantic escape, then To Love A Prince by Rachel Hauck is the book for you. I just loved this royal romance complete with fairy tale elements. You can also describe this novel as divine! Set in the fictional North Sea kingdom of Lauchentland, the story follows Daffodil Daffy Caron and her friend and prince, Gus. The two were great friends as children, but an inadvertant misstep by Daffy as a child led to their separation. An errant frisbee brings them back together, although there are lots of obstacles to their relationship. I loved the friends to more vibe that this book has. Hauck creates a wonderful world in Lauchtenland with fun regional idioms and speech patterns, gorgeous scenery, and a modern tech economy. The spiritual themes of God’s love and one’s place in His plans and purposes are strong and naturally developed, never preachy.

For fans of Hauck’s other books, To Love A Prince has connections to The Fifth Avenue Story Society and to her Royal Wedding series. There is also a unfinished story line that connects the book to the setting of Heart’s Bend, Tennessee — I can’t wait to see where that leads. Fun and fresh, this contemporary romance is definitely a highly recommended read!

Highly Recommended.

Audience: adults.

This book gives you romance and shows some people finding Jesus. I love these characters. Daffy and Gus become a wonderful couple. This shows that some people are meant to be a princess. This also shows how social media and the news can be very bothersome. Everyone should be able to have privacy. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )
