In this P&P sequel, although Mary is unhappy she is resigned to spending her time at Longbourn. Until a letter arrives inviting her to Pemberley. Is it fate that on the journey northwards the Bennets briefly met a Robert Ashton, and then meet the Ashton brothers again at Pemberley. A delightful novella about Mary Bennet. I do enjoy reading stories where she is brought to the forefront of a tale, though my only negative thought is why a curate. (A re-read before starting Book 2 and Book 3) This looks like another really fun series by Meg Osborne with the first book revolving around a romance for Mary. This series begins after Elizabeth, Jane, and Lydia have gotten married unlike in the Convenient Marriage Series that I read last time. I really like the way this author handles writing Mary Bennet's character in both of these series. We also get to see a romance unfold for Georgiana in the background of this book. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing what happens next in this series. Zeige 3 von 3 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

Mary Bennet is used to being overlooked, and with three sisters married and a fourth intent on becoming so, she resigns herself to life as the stay-at-home spinster daughter to her increasingly needy parents. When she receives a letter from her sister Elizabeth, inviting her to stay at Pemberley, she jumps at the chance for a change, little realizing what fate has in store. Curate Robert Ashton is extracting his wayward brother from yet another inn when Mary Bennet crosses his path and he is struck by her gentleness and simplicity. He can scarcely believe his luck when this pretty young lady turns out to be staying at neighboring Pemberley, the guest of Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy. He is determined to know her better, but will the interference of his brother help or hinder quiet Robert's progress? After the events of Pride and Prejudice that brought Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy together, can another Bennet sister find her Happily-Ever-After? A Trip to Pemberley is the first book in the Three Sisters from Hertfordshire series, a continuation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
