-- Strange Comfort by Tegan Moore narrated by Kate Baker - 2*
welp I made it to the end, waiting to see what happened to the main character but overall I didn't particularly enjoy the story. I'm probably not a good match for the author's writing style. I felt confused by their telling at times and didn't understand some stuff, like what is a "freak"... like how and arm of the worm got caught in the thingie, and how
-- Artificial People by Michael Swanwick narrated by Alethea Kontis - 2.5*
Not a high interest story for me but enjoyable enough. A scientist businessman creates an AI. Our main character seems to be his prototype and is using him regularly to test his profitability in the real world. In between projects he is "shut down". A bit sad because he presents as a normal human really and each time he is shut down, huge chunks of time go by and when he is turned on, he is property and is used at will regardless of the AI's preferences.
-- The House That Leapt Into Forever by Beth Goder narrated by Kate Baker - 1*
I would have DNF'd if it was any longer (it was 10 minutes). To know me is to know I would not like this type of story. I have no idea what that was about. A sentient house on a moon with sentient cleaning bots? Starving?
-- The Oddish Gesture of Humans by Gabriel Calácia narrated by Kate Baker - 1*
Same review as the one above. This one was 15 minutes. I got a clue from another reviewer regarding what the story was about but even knowing that it didn't help me understand it at all. Two "foreign" (or maybe alien but seem human enough) oceanographers are trying to figure out what two "humans" are doing in a photograph.
-- One Time, A Reluctant Traveler by [author:A.T. Greenblatt|7867641] narrated by [author:Kate Baker|17056537] - DNF at 60%
I'm not sure what to say as a review/memory trigger... there is a tradition of bringing ashes to the ocean and drinking them and we our MC attempting that even though, the whole entire time everyone and thing he meets tells him it's not worth it and it won't make you happy. Not only are there characters dissuading him there are also obstacles. It was too much for me, I couldn't keep up with the characters and obstacles.

I think I am moving away from Clarkesworld editorial choices... are they changing or me?
