Read it twice already. It's the cleverest and most entertaining read I've come across in a long time. The author has a knack for both humor and eroticism that is page turning and is literally laugh out loud funny as well as hot. Somehow the novella packs into an abbreviated space a lot of charm, character, the flavor of pre WWI England and some really GREAT sex scenes. Inventive and far better written than I am used to seeing in any modern erotica. John Cleland is the last person I read who had this kind of gift. I could really imagine all the happenings without a lot of droning on. Moves along at a quick, but not rushed, pace. Favorite characters are the headmistress and the very cocky John Thicke. I want to say something more about those characters without spoilers but all I'll say is it was nice to read a grown up and unusual friendship/partnership without the excessive drama passing as romance in so many novels. Surprising things even insert themselves and a couple of mysteries I want to follow into the next book. ( )
