The cover and interior illustrations are ridiculous, don't match the text at all - but even if they weren't so distractingly wrong I'd be annoyed at the superficialness of the book. Too many flaws to argue about. Good potential, though, and a few nifty little bits of business, so not a 1-star bomb. ( ) Well - nothing wrong with it, but it didn't quite catch me. All three of them were more-or-less idiots, but by the end of the story they'd each at least begun to accept themselves. Jamie was the oddest - so desperately determined to have some uniqueness about her, and equally desperately ignoring the one true oddity in her history. I'd be interested to see more of Tyaak's time - it feels vaguely Andre Norton-ish, though that may just be because of the assortment of races and the near-deserted Earth. Each bit of the story was at least mildly interesting, but overall it doesn't particularly appeal. I might try reading it again sometime when I'm feeling very cheerful and interested in things. This is probably the one book I have read the most times in my life. It's been a few years since I last read it, but I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Long ago the powers of Destruction attempted to overthrow the powers of Creation. Destruction was held at bay for a time, but now Darkness is gathering once again. Three young, unknowing descendants of a great magic worker are thrown together to stop the Storm. Arni Arnorson is from the era of the Vikings. Jamie Halcro is from the twentieth century. And Tyaak, a half-Human, half-Kreeth, is from the twenty-sixth. Can they put aside their differences and learn to work together in time to stop the destruction of their worlds? (I've really done the book no justice... just go and read it yourself.) Experiments in Reading Zeige 3 von 3 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
