My five year old loves this book, and so do I. It teaches children that just because they like something others say they shouldn't doesn't make them any less what they are. Confusing? This book lays it out so easily for kids to "get." Jet the cat likes to sing, so they're probably a bird. But they can't fly! Jet like's to prance, but they don't have a beard like a goat...and in the end, all of these other animals like or are things that aren't typical to that animal! Some birds run instead of fly; some goats don't have a beard; some frogs are soprano! I love this book so much, and I get excited whenever Dexter chooses to read this one at night! :) ( )
