Welcome to the Georgia O'Keeffe College of Arts and Subtle Dramatics, an historically all-female school whose population is decidedly more drama geek than jock. Liv, aspiring actor and basketball enthusiast, doesn't understand why she can't be both, but she seems alone in that belief...until Charlie. Charlie is a recent transfer, a star basketball player, and the answer to all of Liv's problems. She'll stop at nothing to get Charlie to join the ragtag group of misfits that make up their fledgling basketball team. Carly Usdin (Heavy Vinyl) and Noah Hayes (Goldie Vance) present a touching tale about finding what you're looking for... on and off the court.… (mehr)

I liked the colors of the cover, reminded me of Easter. Also, two females on the cover? Sold.

The storyline was cute, I’m all here for females trying to better themselves. Not sure how long the series is but if I see #2 I’ll pick it up. Although it was cute, I found the storyline to also be very cliche and campy. The characters far seem very one dimensional. The main character seems angry and moody but we haven’t found out why.

The colors in the artwork are very vibrant and the characters facial expressions match the dialogue. I like this artist a lot. ( )

***THOUGHTS DIRECTLY AFTER FINISHING***
Oh. This is why I like going in blind. It was so short but I feel very satisfied. And smiley? Which is weird because I had a very long day/week.
So when I came home I just changed in my huispak (is there an English expression for clothes you only wear at home? A home suit? I don't think that's a thing?), made some tea, opened up my bag with my favourite liquorice and sat behind my computer with a warm blanket. So normally when I need my brain to power down I read.

But today I was browsing comics. I actually wanted to see if I could complete a different series but got distracted. Being distracted and being impulsive goes hand in hand for me. So I bought this instead.

So with a 'busy' brain, very unfocused, a bit crappy, tired but not enough to actually sleep, I started.

I loved it. It actually made me laugh. And smile for many pages. The last page was heartwarming. I actually think this one comic could be a stand alone. But I'm really glad there are more!

***WHY I WANT TO READ THIS***
Here's something about me. For some of my teen years I was a massive shoujo manga reader (but when I watched anime that was mainly shounen? Weird).

One of my favourite tropes were when a girl wanted to play sports so much that they would do anything for it. Even disguise as a boy (didn't always liked that aspect, felt very confining to me. Dude what's wrong with short hair and pants?). One of my all time series is [b:Girl Got Game, Vol. 1|271321|Girl Got Game, Vol. 1 (Girl Got Game, #1)|Shizuru Seino|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1391911913s/271321.jpg|263037]. So when I read the blurb and say the drawing on the cover I was like MINE MINE MINE.

What can I say? I have very poor impulse controle when it comes to books. ( )
