"As usual I didn't pay for this book but instead received it free in exchange for a review. Also as usual despite that kindness I give my candid thoughts below.

The description for this book calls it a Biography of 29 pages in length. In reality, it's more just a jumble of lists. It lists his movies roles and other disjointed random facts. You may well ask then, how does that amount of content make up 29 pages? Well, easy, according to my Kindle, the last 56% of the book (no, that's not a typo) is comprised of advertisements for the author's other titles in the Biography series. So really it's only 13 pages. OK, well, 12 because the first page isn't really a page but just a repeat of the second.

It's also worth noting that if that weren't bad enough the writing is extremely questionable and only vaguely resembles English. Words are repeated, misspelled, misused and generally abused. Finally, the only photo in evidence is the one on the website advertising this book. The kindle book doesn't even have a picture on the cover.

In summary, you would be better served to simply read any short article online and be done with it. You would learn more and you'd save yourself the current asking price. This book is truly a waste of time and money." ( )

This is a very short biography that leaves out a lot of information. If you are looking for the complete biography of Charlie Chaplin, this is not it. A lot of his personal life and films are left out of this. ( )

i am afraid this is a bad review - and i hate doing it - but it is such a shamelessly exploitative volume, that i cannot resist. first of all it is simply a rather sloppy cut and paste job - and leaves out much material - after he is shown to leave for Switzerland, we never hear anything more of his life - the many more films, and an entire family - new wife and numerous kids alongside all the films - there are so many great biographies of Chaplin - including his own autobiography - someone did absolutely minimal work. there are typos and errors of vocabulary for example throughout - and then half the book is an itemisation of the other books in the series ... so it is a gyp - i don't know how much they plan on charging (it is part of a series of amazon originals), nor do i know if all the other books in the series (they are really pamphlets rather than books) are equally disastrous as this one - but it's just awful.

The language skills, pacing and layout of this biography is terrible to the point of being unreadable.
