My Review: (May contain spoilers, fair warning upon reading this review)

Dangerous Temptation and Beautiful Nightmare is a duet that I have been wanting to come out since it first released. I had seen quite a few mixed reviews for it though, which is why it took so long in digging into this one here. I also was able to listen to this one here.

Dangerous Temptation is the first book and this is where we get the introduction into our couple and seeing the beginning of what draws them together. There is quite a bit of angst that delves into their relationship. They both hate each other lol At first its the hero that is being a jerk to the heroine, so that builds on the tension between them. The heroine is strong in her own way, but she responds to the tension that the hero displays.

I will be honest that there are issues with this book that might not work for everyone. The heroine is 17 (so a bit underage) but the hero is in his late twenties, so the age gap isn't too horrible as its within the ten years about. I did have issues with the tension that is between the hero and heroine. It really doesn't even get fun until the very end of the book with the cliffhanger haha And it also seemed to me it was all about sex, there didn't seem to be any evolvement in their relationship that wasn't about that. And I definitely need more from my books than that.

Overall while it had a great promising start in aspects of the reading and the narration really pulling me into the story, and the mystery between the rivaling families, the romance so far is a bit meh. ( )

I always know going into a book by this author that she is going to take me on a ride. There is something magical about the way that she depicts a story. I find myself in awe of the way that she writes as it often has a lyrical feel to it and she does it so effortlessly. Whether she is writing about MC, Mafia, or Contemporary she always puts her own spin on it that is uniquely her own. That was most definitely the case with this book.

I had read the prequel to this book separately before I realized that it would be included in the book. I appreciated that because it gave me a refresher on the characters in this book. Tiernan is unlike most of the other characters that I have encountered from this author. Had I not already been so invested in having read all of the previous books in the Midnight Dynasty World, I am not sure that I would have liked him, or if I did, it would have taken me a while to get there, because his actions were pretty sketchy, to say the least. However, because I did know the characters from the other books, and knew the history and how twisted the feud between the Constantines and Morelli's was I was a little more prepared to try and figure him out. Did I have a hard time with his history with Bianca's mother? YES. In fact, it was a huge turn-off. However, I put those feelings aside and started to fall in love with his interactions with Brando and took note of the people he kept at his side. At that point, my feelings totally changed. Add in the screwed-up family dynamic and things fell into place.

Bianca was unique. She was wise beyond her years. Even though she was only seventeen, I never felt like she was young. I loved how much she adored her brother. I loved how spirited she was and how she stood up to Tiernan. Together, their interactions were intense and emotions seem to spark between them. Things ended on a pretty intense moment between them and foreshadowed what is to come. Tiernan has a lot of groveling to do and Bianca definitely has to learn who to trust.

I loved how seamlessly the author made this story connect within this magnificent world that so many other authors have created. I am not sure who had the idea to create these stories but I have to give a huge kudos because each book, whether Morelli or Constantine, has a reader rooting for their leading character despite their family name. Unless it is Caroline or Bryant, then those two can rot in the tenth circle of Hell.

I am very eager to see how the author goes about giving these two their happily ever after in the conclusion. ( )
