Many European, Latin-American and Asian countries do have experiences of regional policies aiming to reduce regional disparities in GDP per cápita and/or to develop or to recover their declining and problem-regions. Spain represents, without any doubt, a very rich and interesting case-study regarding regional problems and regional development policies. The aim of this book is not only to analyse regional policies practised, their objectives, instruments and effects, but to develop in-depth analysis on the impacts of investments in infrastructures, human capital and other factors, as well as the advances accomplished in terms of productivity, convergence and regional competitiveness. All this is particularly oriented to get some lessons which can be useful for policy-makers of other countries. The contributions selected have been written by prestigious Spanish academics, most of them having also practical experiences in the field.… (mehr)

This is a very heavy book although it does provide enough background so that if you have missed out on previous books you can still figure out what's going on. ( )

This volume contains two related story arcs that center on Marvel Girl aka Rachel Summers. In the first three-issue arc, drawn by Chris Bachalo, it is Marvel Girl and the X-Men versus a Shi'ar death squad. In the second three-issue arc, drawn by Billy Tan, it is Marvel Girl and the X-Men versus a Shi'ar death squad. Oh wait, those do sound terribly similar, don't they? There is a side story about Wolverine and Storm dealing with the brutal aftermath of M-Day in Africa, but it is merely touched on in these issues; perhaps it will be more of a focus in the next volume. So, there are a lot of battles in these issues, and some pretty brutal acts that I did not really feel affected the characters as deeply as they should have. The artwork is pretty solid, though, so for X-Men action, this works. ( )
