In contrast to the "Court of Midnight and Deception" series this one suffers from boundless stupidity and incompetence all around. Good guys, bad guys, irrelevant extra guys. Everyone had their umbrellas out when it rained brains. It was already pretty annoying throughout this first book but it gets even worse in the second one. The sad thing is that they are not generally stupid but the plot of each of the first two books is so incredibly far-fetched there just is no reasonable way to justify any of it. It's just ludicrous how everyone constantly dismisses or ignores every single obvious in-your-face clue. How they are for example simply not able to guard areas of importance. Bad guys constantly just show up in places they shouldn't be able to get to. Like they can just materialize and vanish again anywhere they want. If something like that happened once or twice I would be fine with it but every single step along the main plot thread requires some completely implausible mistake or incompetence by a whole room of people at once, continuously, for days. And again, even these extreme cases happen not just once, no, it happens repeatedly. I am quite disappointed by this because everything else seems fine. It's maybe a little clichéed, it's maybe a little cheesy and cutesy, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. But I just can not get past the complete baloney that is sold as the plot here. "Ever feel like you don{u2019}t belong? Try being a hunter living with werewolves. I{u2019}m the definition of doesn{u2019}t fit in . I{u2019}m not Pack, but I{u2019}m not the enemy, either. I struggle to survive among werewolves who are stronger and faster than me, and are competitive enough to break a bone or two for the sake of fun. Greyson, their alpha, is the worst of them all. Endlessly relentless and twice as deadly, Greyson rules the Pack and expands its territory even though it{u2019}s already the largest in the region. I just wish he{u2019}d stop interfering with my life. He{u2019}s got enough trouble of his own with his incomplete mate bond, but he{u2019}s made it his hobby to tease and test me at every opportunity. Doesn{u2019}t my life sound fun? When wolves from surrounding packs start mindlessly attacking the innocent humans in our city, Timber Ridge, everything changes. Werewolves don{u2019}t turn feral without reason. Which means someone is making this happen, and they{u2019}re targeting our Pack. I don{u2019}t like where this is going, but how am I supposed to stop a feral wolf outbreak when I{u2019}m just one hunter? Can Greyson and I set aside our differences to see the Pack through this? Hunted is the first book in the Pack of Dawn and Destiny urban fantasy trilogy and is part of the Magiford Supernatural City world. It features werewolves, hunters, and fae, and is filled with humor, adventure, and a sweet romance that will have you laughing out loud."--Amazon.ca. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
