Dit is al het 13de deeltje in de reeks Van klein tot groots dat uitgeverij De Vier Windstreken vertaald heeft van het oorspronkelijke Litte people, big dreams. Vanaf nu verschijnen de Nederlandstalige deeltjes ook onder de Engelstalige naam. Geen idee waarom.

Gelukkig is er niets veranderd aan het geweldige concept. Elk deeltje vertelt ons het verhaal van een persoon die als kind al grootse dromen heeft en als volwasenne de wereld doet dromen. Mensen zoals: Marie Curie, Astrid Lindgren, David Bowie en deze keer de kleine Pablo. Nu, bijna 50 jaar na zijn dood, vooral gekend onder zijn achternaam Picasso.

In dit boekje leer je dat de 9-jarige Pablo al beter kon tekenen dan zijn vader die tekenleraar was, je leest ook waarom hij een blauwe periode had en hoe hij de kunstwereld voorgoed veranderde. Boeiend, inspirerend (voor jong én oud) en uitermate mooi geïllustreerd door Bellón. Fan!

Dit is wederom een pareltje dat in geen enkele klas, boekenkast, mag ontbreken! Ik duim dat er nog duizenden volgende delen mogen verschijnen! ( )

Once again typical of this series you have a short biography of Picasso from birth through the end of his life, hitting all the major points that are happy. His blue period was mentioned, so you do know that Pablo did have sad points in his life but the book covers over many of the bad things. Overall this is a great introduction to kids who know nothing about the artist but as an adult I find it quite a bit boring. ( )
