I think this was probably a pretty entertaining story - the chase for lost gold - but not really my thing. And then I read somewhere that the novel becomes fantastical - once I had that idea in my head, I lost the will to keep reading! ( )

Abigail Holland comes to treasure hunter Gage Logan when she inherits a treasure map from her grandfather who was also a treasure hunter. While many people have searched for the Devil's gold, no one has found it. Someone is pretty sure that Abby's map is good as witnessed by the fact that someone broke into her house to look for it.

Gage isn't at all convinced that this map is real. And he knows that he doesn't want to go hunting for it with Abby. He traveled with a woman he loved once before only to lose her to an accident. One that he hasn't managed to forgive himself for. But Abby is a different sort of woman. She's brave, smart and as filled with the need for adventure as Gage is himself.

From their first trip to the Superstition mountains in Arizona to the jungles of the Yucatan peninsula, Gage and Abby search for treasure and fall in love though Gage isn't willing to admit it. Along the way they have to deal with poachers who want their gold to drug cartels and crooked officials.

The story was filled with action and was also a nicely spicy romance. ( )

Abby inherits a treasure map from her grandfather and enters. into a partnership with Gage Logan, renowned adventurer. There is sexual tension from the beginning, but i9t comes to the point that rather explicit sex scenes leave the pair little time t battle the bad guys and find the fortune. I would have preferred more action and less sex. ( )

Book two in the series sees Gage Logan, second son and treasure seeker, meet his mate and match in this story filled with secrets, adventure, gold, and romance. Will Logan find the treasure Abigail Holland believes is out there or give up on the incredulous myth he believes it probably is to explore further?

What I liked:
* Abbigail Holland: strong, resilient, intelligent, loving, kind, sensual, and her grandfather’s only hope of proving he has truly found a lost reassure of Gold…she is also kind of taken by Gage Logan
* Gage Logan: treasure seeker, brother, gorgeous, has women flocking to him, interested in Abbigail but also doesn’t mix business with pleasure…usually…
* Seeing the brothers of Gage again…Kade from book one and Edge (probably in book two)
* The fast pace
* The US and south of the border settings
* The mystery and myth and more
* That there was more than one baddie
* The chemistry between Abby and Gage
* Mateo: great addition to the team…wonder if he will show up again
* Knowing there is another book (at least) in the series to look forward to
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* Exactly who and what I was meant not to like
* Thinking about how greed, corruption, and evil is so prevalent in the entire world and the impact it has on all of us

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in the series? Yes

While this was an interesting read it felt a bit flat to me. Despite the adventure of treasure hunting everything seemed a bit too expected. Girl meets boy. Adventure ensues. Love (or lust) dominates. The End.
