The blurb pretty much tells you all about the plot in each of these short novellas, so I am not going to expand too much on that, because adding much more would spoil the entire book, but I will try to do my best.

I love Christmas, and I love reading about Christmas. I also love mysteries, so this book was perfect in more ways than one. I could put it down after reading one story and not feel guilty that I had decorating to do, and then pick it up and go on to the next. It also gave me a chance to digest the previous story and gather my thoughts. Since I love all these authors, that didn't hurt, either.

The first story by Ms. O'Connor was definitely my favorite. I don't know if it's the idea of family at Christmas, or just the Irish setting, or even her protagonist's way of thinking; but I loved the way Siobhan came to her conclusion as to whom committed the murder, and why. The entire novella was fun, mostly centering on solving the thefts and the murder, but we did get a glimpse of Siobhan doing was everyone else is doing at Christmas, and that made it more enjoyable for me. The ending wasn't as big a surprise to me, but as I've said on and on, I read a lot of mysteries and am pretty good at figuring out the killer. Still and all, a quite enjoyable read.

The second story also came in second place. Ms. Day's protagonist is a smart woman, and she always shares her information with the police, which I like. None of this 'I'll figure it out before them even if it puts me in danger.' Or, as we also call it, TSTL. When the victim is murdered, it involves her beloved Aunt Adele, and Robbie has no choice but to get involved herself. The information she gleans from locals actually helps, but it isn't until the climax that we get to find out who the real killer is, and the reason for the murder. Of course, a Merry Christmas at the end as we expect.

The third by Ms. Ehrhart is also very good, but I felt that there was so much more extraneous information that wasn't needed, such as what dishes were being used and why (is it really important to the story?) and every food item Pamela bought was organic or special. I would have liked to have a little more of the investigation to go on. However, I do love Bettina's energy and the fact that she and Pamela are the best of friends. They also make the best of sleuths together, too, which is where this story shines. A nice ending to the book.

In the end, this is a very good read for the holiday season and I would definitely recommend it to others.

These three novellas are tied together by Christmas scarfs. In the first one, thefts from a nursing home distress the residents, but when one of the missing items, a scarf, ends up killing a young man in freakish accident, the guards realize it might just be murder. In the second story, a woman dies by knitting a scarf, not a normal occurrence by any stretch of the imagination. It’s going to take some digging to find out how and why this happened. In the third novella, a woman is strangled by a Christmas scarf, and police must track down the owner of the scarf, and find a motive. All three stories are equally entertaining and quite well written. The characters are continuing ones, so regular readers will know their back stories, but even if you don’t, the stories work well as stand-alones. If you enjoy a little murder at Christmastime, then this collection is for you! ( )

Christmas scarf murder by Carlene O'Connor was a fantastic Christmas, cozy mystery. I did not guess who the murderer was in this story. Carlene kept me guessing to the end. I loved the surprise decorations on the tractor and the light-up sign in the house, I teared up a little at both.

The Unfinished Scarf by Maddie Day is book 10.5 in the Country Store Mystery series and the first book I have read from Maddie Day. I love the sayings that the locals use, they are very unique. The ending to this one was a little abrupt, we went from Robbie talking about possible suspects to blam! here is the murderer.

Death by Christmas Scarf by Peggy Ehrhart, book 8.5 in the Knit & Nibble mystery series. I love Peggy Ehrhart but sometimes she gets caught up in the minutiae of explaining an outfit or a dish and I end up just skimming over the description. The story itself was good, I did not guess who the killer was or why, although looking back Peggy gives you all the clues so I should have seen it. However, she did a great job of distracting you with facts and clues. ( )

This book features a delightful trio of Christmas-themed short stories, all centering on Christmas scarfs.

For me, Maddie Day is a top cozy mystery author and so I absolutely adored her entry in this collection featuring her Pans n Pancakes series characters. Clever and unique murder method.

I've never read a book by either Carlene O'Connor (featuring her Irish Village series characters) or Peggy Ehrhart (featuring her Knit & Nibble series characters) but enjoyed each of their Christmas short stories.

While I'm completely up to date with Maddie Day's series, after finishing this book, I immediately picked up the first in the Irish Village series and the Knit & Nibble series and hope to get into both of these soon.

Highly recommended for its trio of delightful cozy Christmas short stories.

Christmas Scarf Murder by Carlene O’Connor, Maddie Day, and Peggy Ehrhart contains three cute holiday themed cozy mysteries. All three stories are well-written and fit nicely into their respective series. I like how the Christmas scarf theme fit into each story. I thought Maddie Day had a clever method of murder. I wish there had been more investigating by Robbie Jordan in Scarfed Down. It was nice to catch up with Robbie, Abe, Sean, Adele, and the others. It was cute how Robbie and her staff were making dishes to go with The Twelve Days of Christmas. I like how Robbie was reading a new book by Becky Clark from A Crossword Puzzle Mysteries. The Christmas scene at the end was sweet. There is plenty of Christmas cheer in all three novellas. I enjoyed the first two stories more than Death by Christmas Day Scarf by Peggy Ehrhart. There are so many characters introduced in the beginning of the tale. I felt that the main character did not stand out especially with next to her dynamic best friend. The mystery was okay, but I find the way it was solved a little odd. Christmas Scarf Murder by Carlene O’Connor had an interesting mystery along with Christmas fun. It is a lively story which I liked. I like how the whodunit came together in the end. It can be read as a standalone along with Scarfed Down. I believe Death by Christmas Day Scarf is better for those who are familiar with A Knit and Nibble Mysteries. Christmas Scarf Murder has three charming Christmas cozies with sweater weather, festooned trees, wonderful waffles, copious knitting, a couple of curious crimes, and cheerful Christmas celebrations.
